Meet Ginny
A little info about me:
I went to undergraduate school at Appalachian State University and majored in Psychology with a concentration in Business and double minor in Studio Art and Interior Design (it’s so hard to decide!). During my time at ASU I was fortunate to have the experience as a student athlete via running cross country and track and field.
After undergraduate school I joined AmeriCorps and worked in an arts-based day program for adults with developmental disabilities in Tucson, AZ followed by a few years working in community mental health. My heart for the NC mountains called me home to Boone (the Boonerang effect got me).
I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University with concentrations in Expressive Arts Therapy and Addictions Counseling. One of my favorite courses was Mindfulness Based Counseling and I often incorporate these concepts into my work.
In my spare time I love spending time with my friends and family including my husband and son and our 2 rescue dogs - Annie and Charlie. I love all things outdoors - running, hiking, kayaking and snowboarding along with a few indoor hobbies as well such as cooking, reading, crafting and yoga.
